s a grand occasion that gathered together the achievements of human civilizations, the World Expo 2010 Shanghai left behind indelible imprints of progresses that humans made during one and half centuries. Bearing the world’s wisdom and dream, the World Expo 2010 Shanghai China showcased the power of life, delivered peace, love and hope, concentrated the world’s quintessence, promoted oriental and occidental exchanges, integrated culture, science and technology, and reflected history and future. 246 counties, international organizations and enterprise exhibitors from home and abroad created magnificent and enchanting pavilions by means of their immeasurable enthusiasm, wisdom, innovation and perfect craftsmanship. The success, splendidness and memorableness of this World Expo will become a new monument in the history of World Expos.
To General Zhang Zhong-hua, who was engaged in leading security work of the World Expo, this event has a special personal meaning. General Zhang got a bird’s eye view of the night of World Expo Shanghai and recorded glorious and splendid moments from an extraordinary angle with his camera. With his book, these moments are unfolded before us one beautiful scene after another. 2010年，中国成功举办第41届世界博览会，创造了世博会历史上最大规模的纪录。这无疑是中华民族复兴卓越历程的华彩篇章，也是中国屹立于世界民族之林的精彩展现。
上海世博园是世界建筑艺术群星荟萃的大舞台，200多座风格迥异、造型别致、引领时代潮流的前卫建筑，依水毗邻而立，构成了五彩缤纷的“地球村”。绘制出一幅多元文化和谐共存的绚丽画卷。无数摄影家和摄影爱好者在此流连忘返，每天都涌现出数不胜数的精美摄影作品，汇集成民族的盛世华章，创造着世博的文化遗产。
“日月之行，若出其中；星汉灿烂，若出其里。”张中华先生在夜晚俯拍的上海世博之夜，别具风采，十分难得。他恰当使用擅长低照度下工作的器材，准确把握拍摄时机，以常人难及之视角呈现的上海及世博园在茫茫夜色中的流光溢彩，美轮美奂。其场景之宏大，气势之磅礴，令人震撼。

In 2010, China successfully held the 41st World Expo and created a new record of the largest Expo that has been ever held. This is a face beyond dispute a magnificent chapter in the preeminent course of Chinese national rejuvenation as well as wonderfully shows that China stands towering among the nations of the world.
The World Expo Park in Shanghai was a grand stage that gathered together architectural designs all over the world. With more than 200 avant-garde buildings that were unconventional in pattern, unique in style and met the tendency of the day, the Expo formed a multi-colored “Global Village” and drew a flowery scroll of multi-cultural harmony and co-existence. It was a magnet for many photographers and shutterbugs. A number of exquisite photos emerged every day. All these pictures will become a part of the permanent collection that showcases the prosper times and memorizes cultural heritages of the World Expo.
“The sun by day, the moon by night, appear to rise up from the deep. The Milky Way with stars so bright sinks down into the sea in sleep”. Photographs of “The Night of World Expo Shanghai” were taken from a high angle by Mr. Zhang Zhong-hua. They are very rare with a unique view and distinctive style. Mr. Zhang felicitously used photographic equipment excellent for shooting at low light level, accurately grasped the shooting timing and presented a brilliant, splendid and gleaming city of Shanghai and Expo Park that enchanted us for their magnificent scenes and great momentum.
The World Expo Shanghai has become a historical memory, but these vivid photographs will become a brilliant historic witness as well as a valuable spiritual wealth that perpetuates forever in the world.
