序言
我认识古冰是在上世纪90年代，一次我去高原写生的途中。当时他邀请我去他的画室参观，我看到他画了一屋子的作品，很受感动，就鼓励他到中央美术学院来学习，这样可以开阔视野，对艺术的创作和人生来说都是很重要的。后来，古冰考入了美院的研究生班，我指导他的艺术创作，这样我们的交流就更加密切了。古冰热爱艺术，且非常勤奋，在创作上肯下功夫，而且善于思考。在毕业展览时，他的创作“阵风系列”就体现出充满质朴气息的艺术追求。面对这些作品，你能体会到一种来源于生活的美感，它们不同于那些刻意的表现，而是自然的真情流露。其中《友谊》一画中，那饱经风霜的骆驼守护着牧人，而牧人又安静地睡去，那种人与自然和谐相处的感觉，诗意地表现了生活的意境。这是一种带有理想主义精神的艺术追求，是对真情的呼唤，这有别于那些浮躁和虚假的呻吟。
青藏高原蕴涵着一种大美，那日出而作、日落而息、日复一日的生活，人们走马牧羊、收获青稞，呈现出一派安宁的景象。高原人在平凡的生活中创造着美，他们优美的身姿，甚至他们醉酒时的舞步和歌声都蕴含着淳厚的、朴实无华的美，这都是在与大自然融合以及抗争中积累下的情感经验，他们保有着那种宽厚执着的精神境界。高原的美深深地吸引着热爱这片土地的艺术家们，我和古冰结伴到高原写生创作也有十余年的时间了，也几乎走遍了青藏高原的牧场和村落。高原风霜磨砺了他的人生，也开阔了他的精神世界和艺术胸怀，他的绘画作品也表现出成熟的美感。
正如他在论文中提到的“慢慢走，欣赏呀！”，在人生和艺术这条路上，古冰走得很稳很真诚，他用心感悟着生活中的美，用画笔描绘着他的惊喜和发现。他在作品中所描绘的青藏高原人物，有很多都是他在高原创作过程中结识的朋友，他们建立了深厚的友谊，彼此的情感沟通与交流没有了障碍，表现的形象就具有了真实的美感，这些都是浑然一体的，体现在作品中就具有可贵的感染力。他的艺术追求是真诚的，这些质朴天然和凝结情感的作品，给我们带来了美好的精神享受。
我认为美术家要想创作出感人的作品，就得深入到平凡的生活中去，把根扎入泥土中充分吸收来自生活的丰富养料，只有这样才可以长成一棵大树。这一切都是水到渠成的过程。我相信他会在这个集合的基础上，继续坚持不懈地创作，我们期待他会有更好的作品面世。
祝贺这本集结着对青藏高原深厚情感的画册出版。

I knew Gu Bing in 1990 when I went to plateau to sketch. He invited me to visit his studio and I was shocked by his roomful works, I felt it’s regretful to waste his art talent, so I encouraged him to learn in the central academy of fine art to widen his vision and further study art. This period of education plays a very important part in his later creation. During his higher education, I guided his creation in graduated class of fine arts academy and our communication became more closely. He works very hard and he really loved art, he always researching how to create works well and good at thinking. In the graduation exhibition, his work “wind series” represents plain breath of artistic pursuit which attracted almost all of the viewers. People call his creations are beauty from life, because Gu Bing’s paintings naturally reveal the truth and different from deliberate performance. In 《friendship》, the weather-beaten camels are guiding shepherd and the shepherd is sleeping quiet, which reflect the harmony between human and nature, express life in a poetic style. This is a spirit of idealism in artistic pursuit. And his style is quite different from false and impetuous moaning.
In Plateau, sunrise work, sunset rest, day after day, life there is beautiful. People annotate shepherds, harvest naked barley, living in peace everyday. Their life is simple and they are good at creating beauty in ordinary life, their song and dance steps have simple and unadorned beauty. And all of these are emotional experiences accumulated in the process of fusion and struggle with nature, which teach them to keep generous spiritual realm in everyday life. Beauty of plateau deeply attracts artists who love plateau. I had gone to plateau for creation with Gu Bing more than ten years, during that period of time, we nearly visited all of the plateau and villages in Qinghai-Tibet area. Plateau’s wind and frost is tough which test his body, widen his spirit world, gradually his works represent mature and natural beauty.
He mentioned in his papers: “walk slowly, admire!” In his life, he described his surprise and discovery by his paintbrush steady and sincerely. Most of the images in his works are his friends and know each other in his sketch. He said: “The image I want to represent would have real aesthetic feeling if there is no obstacle between me and model.” His pursuit of art is sincere, plain and natural. His drawing skill represents appealing force, which brought us great enjoyment of art. I think artist should reach deep into real life if he wants to create great works, take root into the earth to absorb rich nourishment from life fully and grow up. We call it a course of formality. And I think he will continue to create great work and we expect his further advancement.
