　　当下画坛有三种现象；一是遵循着一条按中国本有的思维逻辑轨迹，循序渐进的过程方式：即一手伸向传统，一手伸向生活，并注重综合修养，不排斥吸收外来艺术的元素，或汲取民间艺术养料，即有当代审美情趣、视觉张力，又富有个性、现代性和民族性的绘画作品。二就是坚守传统，以殉道者的姿态回归传统，讲究能入，追本溯源，仿佛与古人共同对话呼吸，点划之间，无不约定俗成，此即从传承角度可行，但忘却了传承目的何在，文化的意义何在。三即以一种全新的速成的方式切人画坛，革“笔”之“命”，改传统绘画之载体，弃传统笔墨写意之精神，此谓精神可嘉，但终究是无根之木，无源之水。
　　我想任何一种绘画现象产生都与从事者的哲学观、精神架构，文化积淀和社会、政治、经济、文化的环境相关联。在当前文化多元的时代，也确实很难以一种审美观或价值观去统领人们的意识形态，所以包容和容忍也就有它存在的阶级性价值，但不能否认社会主流的导向在这种状态下的引领作用。
　　河北画院是河北最高的由纳税人供养的绘画专业创作研究机构，他们不忘社会赋予的担当和意识，在张国君、李彦鹏二位正副院长的带领下走出象牙塔，肩负历史的责任，一手伸向传统，一手伸向生活，长期扎根于太行山，领悟造化之美，问道于传统与生活之间。近年来，他们的创作团队画出了一批优秀的讴歌时代，赞美祖国，贴近生活，贴近百姓作品。他们心路和实践历程的结果也回答了当下画院要否存在的必要性。这就是我们举办河北画院作品展的用义，也许想找一种载体来对当代中国画发展轨迹的诠释和理解。
　　There are three phenomena in contemporary chinese painting. One is gradual process method followed the way of thinking logicality，which emphasized comprehensive accomplishment from tradition and life. The way does not reject absorbing foreign art element and folk art nutrient. This way of art creation comes into being paintings which is rich in contemporary aesthetic temperament and interest，visual tension，and individual character and national. The second is adhere to the tradition. It goes back to tradition with the attitude of the martyr and begins with the ancients with no established practice. This is feasible from inheritance perspective，but it forgets the intention of heritage and significance of culture. The third is namely in a whole new way to change traditional painting materials and elements，abandon spirits of traditional ink of freehand brushwork. It is mental commendable，but ultimately no root.
　　I think any kind of painting phenomenon is related with practitioner that in all the spirit of philosophy，architecture，culture and social，political，economic and cultural environment. In the era of cultural diversity，it is really hard to use one kind of aesthetic view or values to guide people's ideology. Even if understanding and encompassing have its value，it is also played lead role in the social mainstream guidance.
　　Hebei art academy is the highest levels of the professional creative painting research organization in hebei province. The painter don't forget to the social responsibility and consciousness. They have deep life through long-term rooted in taihang mountains and comprehend the beauty of nature from the life and the tradition under director zhang guojun and vice-director li yanpeng' leadership. In recent years，the creative team drew a number of outstanding works which are eulogize era，praise the motherland，close to the life and people. Their experience also answered the necessity of existence about the art academy. We want to find a kind of carrier to interpret and understand the development track of contemporary chinese painting. It is also the purpose that we held the exhibition of hebei art academy paintings.

Tan Shiqi, born in 1941, is a National level Artist.Member of the China Artists Association, member of the Hubei Calligraphers Association, dean of Hubei Ezhou Chinese Painting Research Academy.
