Words Before the Paintings
I was born in China and nurtured by the profound Chinese
classical culture. Although I have been out of China for a long time, I still love the Chinese culture very very dearly. When I had dreams, the background scenes were always China.
Deep down inside, I feel that an artist is just like the ancient
Chinese legend KuaFu who chased the sun to his death. The ideal state of art and the perfect style seem to be the sun in the sky. So brilliant! So beautiful! You pursuit them all your life. But the light is still far far away in the horizon. You will never be able to reach it. The only thing you get, is that long line of footprints behind your own body.
This little book shows some footprints of mine in my long journey. The works in this book are also some paddles dropped from the flower in my heart.
A famous Chinese poet once wrote:
“ The paddles on the ground are not garbage, they are still full of love.”
I hope I will never lose my deep love to art and never stop
improving myself, so that I can create more real “new” art. Thus, I can say it loudly and proudly:
“ I am an ARTIST!”
