内容提要
章剑是一位以色彩见长的油画家，他对当代都市风景的潜心观察和精微表现在中国当代艺术的实力派群体中树立了一个独特
的标杆。作为一个生长于北京并在作品中反复表现北京的艺术家，章剑始终对上海怀有浓厚的好奇心。那些曾经为大家所熟
识的都市名胜，在他的作品中往往会显露出奇妙的变化，他的观察角度与表现手段与众不同，在绘画语言的关怀之上，其作
品所涉及的寻常情境中常常渗透出淡淡的思虑和浅浅的怀念。
章剑笔下的北京，是阳光灿烂的北京。天安门、长安街和后海，常常笼罩在一片印象主义的明媚光色之下，或天高云淡
，或暮色朦胧，他在描绘自己熟识的景色之时，不自觉地把个人情感投入其中。在大多数情况下，人物只是章剑作品中的配
角，对拥挤的人流和车流他往往视而不见，他笔下的北京城是空旷疏朗的，是一个理想化的舒适居所。
与以往的作品相比，夜晚的灯光，是这次展览上的新主角。阳光下的北京和夜色中的上海通过完全不同的观感显露出城
市个性的差异。昼与夜、黑与白、虚与实，形成了一组组相映成趣的对比关系。上海外滩灿烂的夜景灯光和朦胧而稀薄的雾
气所形成的视觉效果，在他的作品中呈现出迷幻而神秘的气息。那些神采飞扬的笔触所带来的表现性倾向，使得作品的整体
效果在写实基础上更具形式主义的美学观念。
为呼应2010上海世博会的举办，本馆盛情邀请章剑举办个展，他也曾特意为此来沪采风。今天，北京与上海两组新作共
同构建出这个题名为“双城记”的展览。对于熟悉章剑的观看者来说，他的新作有了令人兴奋的明显变化，我衷心希望，本

Being an oil painter accomplished in color usage, Zhang Jian establishes a unique yardstick among
those talented artists in Chinese contemporary art circles with concentrative observation and exquisite
representation of present urban landscapes. As an artist born in Beijing and repeatedly presenting
Beijing in his works, Zhang always has a strong curiosity about Shanghai. Those familiar urban sights
usually unfold delicate and particular alterations in his works. With unique observation perspective
and expression means beyond painting language, the ordinary scenes in his works are often permeated
with a little thoughtfulness and reminiscence.
Under Zhang’s paintbrush, Beijing is a sunny Beijing. Tian An Men (Gate of Heavenly Peace), Chang
’an Street and Hou Hai are often enveloped in bright light, sometimes is light clouds in the clear
sky, sometimes is hazy twilight. When depicting his familiar scenes, he subconsciously devotes his
individual emotion inside. Under most circumstances, figures are only supporting roles in Zhang’s
works. Usually ignoring the crowds of people and traffic, he presents open and spacious Beijing, an
idealized comfortable place of inhabitation.
Compared with his previous works, night light is the new leading role in this exhibition. Through
completely different perspectives, Beijing in sunlight and Shanghai in night light manifest the
differentiation in terms of city’s individuality. Day and night, black and white, void and
substantiality, all these form some interesting relations of comparison. The spectacular night light
and the hazy and thin mist in Shanghai’s Bund form a special visual effect, presenting illusionary and
mythical atmosphere in his works. The expressive tendency brought by those high-spirited brushstrokes
enables the works’ integrated effect to be more formalistic aesthetic on the basis of realism.
To correspond to Shanghai World Expo in 2010, our art center cordially invited Zhang Jian to hold
his solo exhibition here, and he also came to collect materials of creation in Shanghai for this
purpose. Today, two series of new works about Beijing and Shanghai constitute this exhibition entitled
“A Tale of Two Cities”. For viewers familiar with Zhang Jian, his new works have got exciting and
obvious changes. I sincerely hope, this exhibition would become a whole new starting point of his
