我的天界
有些历史学家把古代藏族人居住的地方分成三个区域，即卫藏区、安多区和康巴区。康巴地区俗称康区，它包括今四川省甘孜州十八县和木里县,云南省的中甸、德庆，青海省的玉树、果洛两州部分地方和西藏昌都地区的东侧。 这是彩虹升起的地方，这是天籁齐鸣的地方。这里群峰竞秀，百川争流；这里碧草如锦，万木冲天；这里旌旗猎猎，桑烟袅袅；这里歌声朗朗,舞步翩翩。造物主借这块土地展示它的艺术才华，造物主借这个地方向世人昭示什么是“世外桃源”。
似乎有一种无形的力量在主宰着我，似乎我要做什么事，会做成什么都由这种无形的力量在冥冥之中所安排。十年前的夏天，我踏上青藏高原，只为了猎奇，为了圆儿时的梦,孰料就此与这片土地结下不解之缘。神差鬼使在1994年至1995年这两年竟接连四次几乎走遍了西藏大地，其间遭遇两次大难却到不了大限；于1997年搞出本大型的西藏风光摄影集《天界窥影》，出乎意料地获得颇高的评价。于是深信不疑地认定自己天生是为藏区拍摄的，于是给自己定下任务，拍摄一本西藏风情摄影集《天界子民》，再拍摄一本《康巴圣地》—一本实实在在地反映康巴地区风情的摄影集。
于是又如疯子般一次又一次地，从1998年7月到2001年10月间先后六次深入康区创作。没有人指令，也没有人资助，纯粹是自发的行为。依然是风霜雨雪，依然是千难万险，但生存的目标已确定：能在拍摄藏区的路上结束自己的一生，是最好的归宿。
不慕蜗角虚名，不图蝇头微利，只因那永远割舍不了的缘，只为了对雪域圣地的一份情。
天界不会亏待真诚的人，《康巴圣地》终于成书，这是雪域大地的恩赐，造物主的安排。
再高超的拍摄技术也无可能把藏区壮丽奇特的景色完全再现，再细致的描写也没法把藏民族丰富多彩的生活无遗地表露，这本摄影集只不过是管中窥豹地理解和表现康巴藏区。
想到，做到，达到。 这是人生最大的欣慰。
当完成了这本书的最后一笔，合上编辑、设计稿时，我终于舒了一口气：总算对西藏大地有个交待。

Some historians have divided the area where ancient Tibetan lived into three regions of Weizang region, Anduo region and Kangba region. Kangba region is called popularly as Kang region, which is composed today of eighteen counties of Ganzi Prefecture and Muli County of Sichuan Province, Zhongdian and Deqing of Yunnan Province, part of Yushu and Guoluo prefectures of Qinghai Province and the eastern of Changdu Prefecture of Tibet.
Kangba is where the rainbow rises and natural music plays. There are grand mountains, surging rivers, beautiful grasslands and trees approaching to the sky. There are, too, banners flapping in the wind, sangyan (smoke produced by burning green leaves of pine) rolling up and people singing and dancing happily. It'shere, where the Creator to show his artistic talent, to tell the world what Shangri-la means.
It seems that I am controlled by an invisible power, and what I will do and will be done has already set up by it. In that summer ten years ago, I came to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau just for fun and to fulfill the dream of childhood and turned out to find that I was predestined to have an affinity with this land. In two years from 1994 to 1995, I had visited almost everywhere of Tibet in four travels, among which two times I was in danger and narrowly escaped from death. Grand album Glimpses Into the Heaven of Tibetan landscape issued in 1997 has brought to me unexpected high praise. So I believed without a shadow of doubt that I was born to photo for Tibetan region. Thus I set for myself the task to create an album of Tibetan local conditions and customs Tibetan, then an album of Holy Kangba of Tibet, a real one to show the local conditions and customs of Kangba region.
Just like a madman, from July 1998 to October 2001, I had gone to Kangba for creation six times. There's neither outside instruction nor financial support, all just done by myself. Still, I had to deal with bad weather and numerous hardships and difficulties. My life goal has been determined: the best destination is to end my life on the road of taking photos of Tibetan region.
Seeking neither fame nor gain, just for the affinity will never give up and the feeling for holy snowy world.
The heaven won't treat unfairly genuine people, and Holy Kangba of Tibet has come out eventually. This is the favor and award granted by the snowy world, and the arrangement of the Creator.
No super technology of photography can reproduce thoroughly grand wonderful scenery of the Tibetan region. No any vivid descriptions can tell wholly rich and varied life of the Tibet nationality.The understanding and reflection of Kangba region in this album is but like seeing segment of a whole.
It's the most gratification in life that there is something to think, to do and to be done.
I have a sigh of relief when finally finished the last stroke, closing the manuscript to be sent for edition and design.
Because, for Tibet, I have done all I could!
